Scrap Metal Drive - October 1 -9 - Volunteers are needed to assist with curbside pickup October 3-8. Volunteers will meet at L&J Industries at 5pm and pickup usually takes around an hour. We also can start collecting early donations from members. Chris will round up some help to collect any early items next week. Additional volunteers may be needed for some special pickups. Watch your email as these opportunities arise.

Fall Family Picnic and Hayride - October 16 - To wrap up summer and our scrap drive, the Club will meet for a traditional fall picnic with a hayride at Linda Klemesrud's cabin in Nashua. Details and RSVP to follow.

- Satellite Club Meeting - Next meeting will be on October 4
- Santa's Shining Lights Show 2022- You can now rent spaces in Central Park in Charles City to showcase your business/organization with Christmas or Holiday Light Displays. By clicking this link you will be able to see the spaces available on a first-come-first-served basis. You can rent up to three spaces per business. Prizes for the best lighting display will be awarded. Businesses will be responsible for putting up and taking down their decorations.

Fun & Frolic: In observation of today's day off of school for students, Alan fined members $1 to working members wishing they got the day off and $2 to retired members who have every day off.
Program: This week's program was presented by Mckenna Lloyd, new director of the Floyd County Historical Museum. She shared some of her background and talked about the museum's ongoing efforts to review and catalog their very large collection using current museum standards for collection and storage. The museum also has lots of events coming up this fall including a rummage sale (happening this week) and the return of the Chautauqua Talks Series starting in October. Watch their Facebook page for full details.
