Announcements:
Washington Playground Equipment - We will disassemble the Washington School playground equipment Monday (8/5/2019) evening starting around 5pm or sooner. We need cordless drills with star bits wrenches and cordless reciprocating saws.
Satellite Club - Ralph and John attended the satellite Club meeting in Waverly last week to get ideas for our Club. Membership Committee will be hosting a brainstorming and planning session for those interested in starting a local satellite Club to determine expectations, goals and format. See Ralph or John if you would like to participate in those discussions.
Member Resignation - The Board has accepted the resignation of Danielle Ellingson. We hope Danielle will be able to rejoin our Club when a satellite club is in place.
Two members of our Rotary Zone will have the opportunity to attend the Leadership Development Program Conference in Overland Park, KS, Sept. 25-29. This conference will help future Rotary leaders develop essential skills to forge success in Rotary, professionally, and personally. Along with a deep dive into what it means to be a Rotarian, key learnings will include: Teambuilding and volunteer leadership skills; Professional communication and brand storytelling; Creating, supporting, and sustaining positive change using your unique skills; Strategic visioning, goal-setting, and implementation. If you have the tenacity to be an active, engaged participant and dynamic future Rotary leader, consider applying for a nomination. Applications are due July 30. Apply for a nomination today.
Fun & Frolic: Ann Troge took members on a walk down memory lane with the class reunion game.
Program: Today's program was presented by TLC: The Learn Center Director Pam Ost and Board President Shirley Kelly. They shared TLC's plans for growth and future location at 500 N Grand. All are invited to an open house to see The Grand Plan at 500 N Grand on Aug. 13 from 4:30-6pm.
Quarterly Salad Option - In an effort to address member requests for salads, the Club is going to offer a salad option next quarter. Members can choose to have a salad instead of the main entree for the quarter. Those taking the salad meal can still take the other parts of the regular meal (bread, dessert, drinks, etc.). The cost will remain the same. See Marcie to try this option for a quarter.
