Congratulations to the team at KCHA on their awards from the Iowa Broadcast News Association and the Midwest Broadcast Journalist Association for entries in the small market radio category, with 3 first-place finishes out of the 8 total awards received.
Announcements:
Grant Applications for 2019 Projects - Sue Ayers and Jenni Miller attended the District Grant Writing Seminar. With the information they learned, the Board has approved applications for 2 exciting projects! The Club will seek funds purchase 2 swings sets as a partnership with the playground project at Washington School. The Club will also seek funds for an international project to install a well and septic system in partnership with Homes for Haiti. Stay tuned for project details and opportunities to get involved including an opportunity to travel to Haiti.
President-Elect - A vote was held to fill the vacant seat for the President-Elect 2020 Rotary year. Ann Troge was nominated for the position. Motion by Randy Heitz. Second by Ralph Smith. Motion carried. Thank you Ann for always being willing to service through Rotary!
Fun & Frolic: Ann Troge highlighted some Rotarians who have recently been in the news and handed out fines for those who missed out on seeing the spring play.
Program: This week's program was presented by Judi Halback, ARNP, CNM from Floyd County Medical Center. Judi is their first Certified Nurse Midwife and shared information about services that can be provided by a midwife in addition to assisting with the birth of a baby.
