Program: This week's program was by City Administrator Steve Diers on the city's broadband project. This $13.5 million project would create a local fiber utility to bring fiber optic services for internet, tv and phone to Charles City residents. Steve shared how this project has evolved over the last +10 years. Final engineering and business plan are now underway. With council approval, this project could start taking shape next month to begin construction in 2020.
Next Week's Assignments
Program: Club Work Day: Fundraising -
Discussion on Soup Supper and Radio Auction, plus new ideas!
Quarterly Salad Option - In an effort to address member requests for salads, the Club is going to offer a salad option next quarter. Members can choose to have a salad instead of the main entree for the quarter. Those taking the salad meal can still take the other parts of the regular meal (bread, dessert, drinks, etc.). The cost will remain the same. See Marcie to try this option for a quarter.
