Sympathies to Jenni Meller and family for the loss of her grandmother, Helen Youngerman.
Former DG Jim Coloff is healing from surgery. He had numerous lymph nodes and a tonsil removed. 2 nodes were cancerous, so he will likely undergo radiation in the coming months.
Staci Ackerson received good news that the cysts on her pancreas are shrinking.
Congrats to Leah Litterer (daughter of Veronica and granddaughter Paul) on being selected as Little Miss Floyd County at the fair last week.
Announcements:
Friends Garden Work Day - Grab your brushes and ladders! Rotarians are needed to assist with staining the arbors at the Friends Garden along Highway. Work will begin at 4:30pm on Wednesday, July 31 (weather permitting). Come as your schedule allows!
Fall Scrap Metal Drive - Committee members are needed to help coordinate a fall scrap metal drive fundraiser. See Chris Garden if you are willing to help plan this event.
RYLA - Local youth are attending young RYLA last week and high school RYLA this week. Young RYLA attendees were Katie Cross and Hannah DeVore. RYLA attendees were: Mindi Neve, Kristin George, and Cole White. The third RYLA participant from Charles City was sponsored by the Mason City Club. Students will give a program about their experience at an upcoming meeting.
Party in the Park - Volunteers are neededto work the popcorn boot Aug. 9 and Aug. 16. Shifts are 5-7pm and 7-9pm. See Kay to sign up.
Committees - Committee chairs are asked to follow up with their committee members to confirm their participation in the committee for the year. The goal is for every member to serve on at least one committee. If you would like to switch or try out a different committee, this is a great time to do so!

Fun & Frolic: Paul Burnham marked the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon mission with trivia.
Program: Today's program was presented by District Foundation Chair Don Meyer. Don updated the Club on current foundation stats (see Did You Know), history, fund management, foundation grants and projects, and the various funds. Learn more about the foundation here!
Quarterly Salad Option - In an effort to address member requests for salads, the Club is going to offer a salad option next quarter. Members can choose to have a salad instead of the main entree for the quarter. Those taking the salad meal can still take the other parts of the regular meal (bread, dessert, drinks, etc.). The cost will remain the same. See Marcie to try this option for a quarter.
