Membership Committee Chair Ralph Smith awarded Gene Parson an Honorary Membership. Thanks to Gene for his years of service and on-going commitment to our Club.

The Charles City Community Chamber Orchestra held a wonderful concert Sunday. Rotarian Ellen Bengtson is a bass player in the group.
Long-time community member Terry Blong passed away. Services will be next week. A full obituary is available at www.hauserfh.com
Announcements:
Student Loan Information Meeting - The Board met this morning to learn more about the Student Loan program and hear updates. A new loan committee is forming to help with program guidelines, administration, and promotion. If you are interested in this committee see Staci or Keith.
Scholarships - The Board voted to once again offer 2 - $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors. Students in the top 20 of the graduating class will be visiting the Club. The Club also will continue to sponsor 2 - $500 scholarships through Dollars for Scholars.
Spring Play - The Social Committee is circulating a signup sheet to attend the High School spring production of the play "Clue," on Saturday, April 12. Let Linda know if you are interested in attending and possibly going to dinner before the show.
Drive 4 Your School Event - Club members are encouraged to participate in the Drive 4 Your School event on Saturday, April 6 from 9am - Noon at Mike Molstead Motors. Each drive earns $20 for the booster club with funds going to support track equipment.

Program: This week's program was presented by Steve Meneley, a prevention specialist at Prairie Ridge in Mason City. He shared Prairie Ridge’s history and resources for addictions including alcohol, drugs, and gambling. He also provided information on the new trends surrounding vaping and e-cigarettes. Rotary International has a membership status for Honorary Members?
(4.050.1.) Eligibility for Honorary Membership: Persons who have distinguished themselves by meritorious service in the furtherance of Rotary ideals and those persons considered friends of Rotary for their support of Rotary’s cause may be elected to honorary membership in more than one club. The term of such membership shall be as determined by the board of the club in which they hold membership.
(4.050.2.) Rights and Privileges:
Honorary members shall be exempt from the payment of dues, shall have no vote
and shall not be eligible to hold any office in the club. Such members shall not hold
classifications, but shall be entitled to attend all meetings and enjoy all the other
privileges of the club in which they hold such membership. No honorary member of
a club is entitled to any rights or privileges in any other club, except for the right to
visit other clubs without being the guest of a Rotarian.
