Holiday Lights Project - The Satellite Club is working on an application for a District Grant to kick off a holiday lights project for the community. This year's project will be an interactive light display at the McQuillen Place building with the hope to grow this activity in the future to include a drive-through light display for our community. This year's display will have a 12 Days of Christmas theme. The projector and other materials purchased will be able to be used in future displays and for other outdoor advertising (think projecting an ad about the soup supper on the side of the Elks Lodge or other building). Stay tuned for volunteer opportunities!
Soup Supper Committee Needed - The Soup Supper Committee is seeking interested members to discuss a possible drive-through or carry-out event. Contact President Ann or Past President Kay if you would be willing to be on this committee.
City Planning Survey - Below is a link to a Public Input Survey for the City of Charles City. This is part of the City's 2020 Strategic Planning process where they would like to gather feedback from the community on new initiatives being considered.

Public health leader Dr. Anthony Fauci has been named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary eClub of Florida. Fauci is one of our lifetime’s most celebrated infectious disease experts, lauded for his dedication to educating the public on health crises strategies, from HIV/AIDS in the 1980s to today’s COVID-19 pandemic.
The Paul Harris Fellow award recognizes people who have donated $1,000 to Rotary, or had donations made in their name to total $1,000.
Dr. Deborah Leah Birx, U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator, under former President Barack Obama, was also named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary eClub of Florida for her dedication to public health and community service.
Past recipients on a public scale have included former president Jimmy Carter and polio vaccine developer Jonas Salk. Not only do these awards recognize the good works of public health servants, they also offer ample exposure for Rotary on an international stage. See the post here.
