Did You Know?
When the Rotary Club of Barrow (Nuvuk), Alaska was founded in 1988, it was the northernmost club in the world!
"Nuvuk" is an Inupiaq word that means "tip" or "point"—a reference to the fact that Barrow (now called Utqiagvik) is only a few miles from the northernmost point in the United States.
