Congratulations to all of the high school and college graduates!
Sympathies to the family and friends of Bob Svec, who was the Morning Show voice of 95.1 The Bull. Bob was a former police officer for many years with the New Hampton Police Department. He suffered a heart attack and had to retire from the police force, but was able to join the radio team and has been a very popular and well-like radio announcer. He recently became a Rotarian in New Hampton. In fitting form, Bob passed away suddenly on Memorial Day evening during a torrential downpour. Bob was a huge supporter of the veterans and a friend to many, many people. He was a very humble and very funny man. He will be greatly missed.
Announcements:
Party in the Park - It's summer and we will once again need volunteers to pop and sell popcorn at Party in the Park. Dates are June 11, July 30 and August 13.
Pass the Buck Night - June 28 - Join us for our annual Pass the Buck Night event as we celebrate this year’s accomplishments and award honors to members and the community. See link for RSPV and event details.
Car Show Volunteer Opportunities - Lots of volunteers are needed to help prep, staff, and cleanup for our first-ever Santa’s Shine and Show event! If you aren’t able to help on the day of the event, there are other jobs that can be done the week before and the day before the event. Please sign up for at least one opportunity to help make this event a success!
Send Recipies - The cookbook committee still needs recipes from more than half of our members! Please send recipes to Marcie Andrews. A photo or scan of the recipes works great! If you are not a cook, recipes can be your favorites from family or friends.
Meal Sign Up -
Meals must be entered by 10 AM on FRIDAYS before each meeting. You will be billed for the meals you sign up for.
* Reminder: If you are not able to attend, please find someone to fill in for your assignment. *
Did You Know?
The "Rotary District 5970 Governor, Lowell Stoolman" will be making a "Bike Ride Around Twin Lake to End Polio Now." on June 5th, 2021 beginning at 11 AM. Lowell is asking everyone in our district to participate in some way. Come and ride the approximately 7 mile trek with the District Governor and acquire pledges from fellow Rotarians, friends, relatives who would like to see Polio eradicated from the earth, OR make pledges per mile that the District Governor will ride, (Guaranteed not to be more than 7 miles). Or just make a flat donation to "End Polio Now" so it can be matched by Jon Lucksteads generous match offer. Could be a fun day. We have a new restaurant and bar on North Twin Lake and the Golf Course with refreshments is on South Twin Lake. LET'S END POLIO NOW.
